DONNA J. BUNTON is a 1981 graduate of the University of Maryland, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, summa cum laude. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the American University Washington College of Law in 1984. While attending law school Ms. Bunton was a law clerk for the intellectual property firm of Cushman, Darby & Cushman.
Upon graduation from law school, she became an associate attorney with the firm of Blum Kaplan in New York City. There she gained experience in domestic and foreign trademark prosecution and litigation in trademark, unfair competition and related areas. In 1986 she became associated with the firm of Banner, Birch, McKie & Beckett in Washington, D.C., where her professional experience was broadened to include counterfeiting and copyright matters. Ms. Bunton joined Nixon & Vanderhye in 1991 and specializes in all areas of trademark and unfair competition matters.
Ms. Bunton is admitted to practice before the Virginia, New York and District of Columbia bars. Her professional affiliations include the American Bar Association, the New York State Bar Association, the District of Columbia Bar Association and the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
