David J. Zibelli joined Nixon & Vanderhye in 2009. Prior to that time, he was an attorney with the firms of Oliff & Berridge and Kenyon & Kenyon.
Mr. Zibelli’s practice includes various aspects of patent law, including patent preparation and prosecution (foreign and domestic), patent reissue and reexamination, patentability, validity, infringement and due diligence opinions, and patent litigation. Mr. Zibelli has extensive experience preparing and arguing briefs before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.
Mr. Zibelli’s technical experience includes a variety of technologies, including semiconductors, computer hardware and software, cable television systems, various copier technologies, data storage devices, microprocessors, projectors, image processing devices, telephone networks and systems, wireless and cellular telephones, automobile systems, medical devices, and Internet technologies, such as naming services, security services, databases and communications.
Mr. Zibelli is a graduate of Boston University (B.S.E.E. 1984) and Franklin Pierce Law Center (J.D. 1993). Prior to law school Mr. Zibelli was employed as an electrical engineer at Raytheon Corp. and Teradyne.
Mr. Zibelli is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eastern District of Virginia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Zibelli is also a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association.
