Gordon P. Klancnik
Mr. Klancnik has extensive experience counseling clients on various patent related issues (including rendering patentability, validity, and infringement opinions as well as performing due diligence for transactions involving intellectual property issues), preparing and prosecuting applications for patents, and litigating intellectual property matters. Mr. Klancnik‘s experience includes litigation at the federal district court and appellate levels, as well as before federal agencies, such as the United States International Trade Commission.
In his practice, he works with numerous technologies, including those in the chemical, mechanical, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, and electrical arts.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Klancnik clerked for the Honorable Randall R. Rader of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Along with Judge Rader and Professor Adelman, Mr. Klancnik is a co-author of Patent Law in a Nutshell.
Mr. Klancnik is a member of the bars of Virginia and the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a member of the Order of the Coif and Tau Beta Pi National Engineering Honor Society.
